Tips to set your rates as a freelancer
The most important question that novice freelancers ask
before starting is: how should we define our rate? You need to know about the
price of your work. In this sense you should know the value of your work or project.
If you know its value, you have no difficulty in defining the rates for web development services. How can
you recognize your value to calculate your hourly rate? Below are tips to know
everything about what you want to define your rates.
How much effort do you need to complete a task?
Consider the duration of the project and the time to
complete it, for example. For a writer how many words the employer expects to
write and for a web designer and developer pages to design and develop.
How many expenses do you need to complete a task?
Make a list of all the expenses used to complete a project.
Expenses such as Internet and electricity bills, gas expenses, taxes, family,
monthly business expenses (such as website hosting fees, domain charges, etc.).
Add all these expenses in your upload fees.
How to find hourly rates?
Here I will explain to you taking the example of the daily
life: suppose that you are a content writer and a 250 character article in $
20, and it takes 45 minutes to complete it. To calculate your hourly rates,
divide the price by time and multiply it by one hour (60 minutes). Here is the
formula to calculate the hourly charges.
Charges per hour = price / time to complete * 60
In the previous scenario
Charges per hour = 20/45 * 60 = 26.66 $
Always remember your value and the value you are adding to
the employer. Taking into account the previous point, declare your rates per
hour.
